Achilles Tendonitis (Introduction)
Achilles tendonitis is inflammation of the Achilles tendon, the giant calf
tendon at the bottom of the back of the leg.
Posterior or retrocalcaneal bursitis is a different problem in this same area
and sometimes difficult to distinguish from tendonitis.
Achilles area problems are common, but they occur less frequently than knee
overuse problems.
